Ming Side Table

This black lacquer table, with its tripod pedestal base, is painted with traditional Chinese designs featuring various examples of flora and fauna. This table is based upon the Ming antique furniture style which is known for its simple, smooth, flowing lines, and plain and elegant ornamentation which bring out the special qualities of its frame-structure. The traditional crane and chrysanthemum motifs are featured. The tray style table edge is outlined with a simple gold painted stripe and the pedestal and legs are painted with a subtle leaf motif.
